Not All Franchises Are Created Equal

Some Things To Look For When Selecting A Franchise In Which To Invest Your Hard Earned Money

The Federal Trade Commission and franchisee organizations such as the American Association of Franchisees and Dealers (AAFD) encourage those who are considering investing in a franchise to carefully evaluate the potential franchise and understand several key points that will aid the potential franchisee in selecting the right franchise that meets their specific needs.

Two of the key points for a potential franchise investor to consider is that the franchise company they select produces and distributes a variety of high quality products designed to meet the needs of consumers and that there is an existing market demand for those products. As the AFFD states in its printed materials, many franchise companies “…are less concerned with the quality of the products and services they are theoretically in business to sell.”

Tropical Flurry, a Dallas, Texas-based leading food and beverage franchisor, is the provider of high quality, 100% juice, fruit juice blends and milkshakes to schools, offering school administrators and parents a viable and kid-friendly way to provide for the nutritional needs of school-age children. The Tropical Flurry school program is already successful in hundreds of schools across multiple US states, with Tropical Flurry franchisees across the country offering schools a frozen beverage dispensing machine, on loan, at no cost to the school.

Tropical Flurry products provide frozen 100% juice beverages that allow children to get the daily requirement of fruits through a refreshing frozen beverage that appears to students to be a “treat.” “The options schools have to get children to eat the proper amount of fruit each day are limited and, let’s face it, most kids would prefer a frozen beverage to a piece of raw fruit,” says David Clawson, President of Tropical Flurry. “Tropical Flurry offers schools a viable solution to getting children to consume their daily requirement of fruits through a delicious, frozen beverage alternative.”

Tropical Flurry makes its products easier to distribute by placing and servicing the dispensing equipment in retail locations at no cost with a signed product contract.

Tropical Flurry, a leading food and beverage franchisor and the provider of high quality, 100% juice, fruit juice blends and milkshakes to retailers and schools, is now offering retailers nationwide a highly competitive, cost-effective way to add new product options for the enjoyment of their customers.

Tropical Flurry franchisees across the country offer retailers a frozen beverage dispensing machine, on loan, at no cost to the retail establishment. What’s more, the Tropical Flurry franchisee delivers product to the retail location on an “as-needed” basis, saving the retailer both time and money. “There are a number of frozen beverage programs available for retailers,” says David Clawson, President of Tropical Flurry, “but virtually all of the others require the retailer to either purchase or lease the dispensing equipment, pay a maintenance fee for equipment upkeep and to pay for the shipment of product to his store. The Tropical Flurry program is the only one that provides the retailer with a turn-key new product offering with the only out-of-pocket expense being the product itself.”

With the current state of the economy, a program like that offered by Tropical Flurry provides retailers with the ability of offer new products without adding additional costs. With the continuing rise of transportation alone, the fact that the Tropical Flurry program includes delivery can result in huge savings for retailers. According to Advertising Age, transportation costs have skyrocketed and are being passed on to retailers. Diesel prices have risen over 50%, while UPS and Fed EX have doubled their fuel surcharges for ground package deliveries. “The Tropical Flurry retailer program includes a dispensing machine on loan, free machine maintenance and free delivery of product. Coupled with great 100% juice, juice drinks and milkshake products, we’ve got the best program available for retailers nationwide,” added Clawson.

Tropical Flurry Offers “Out-Of-The-Box” School Nutrition Alternative.

Tropical Flurry, a leading food and beverage franchisor and the provider of high quality, 100% juice, fruit juice blends and milkshakes to schools, offers school administrators and parents a viable and kid-friendly way to provide for the nutritional needs of school-age children.

Tropical Flurry products provide frozen, 100% juice beverages that allow children to get the daily requirement of fruits through a refreshing frozen beverage that appears to students to be a “treat.” “The options schools have to get children to eat the proper amount of fruit each day are limited and are often impacted by the availability of raw fruit,” says David Clawson, President of Tropical Flurry. “Tropical Flurry offers schools an “out-of-the-box” solution to getting children to consume their daily requirement of fruits through a delicious, frozen beverage alternative.”

Tropical Flurry’s program for schools fits right in to the direction being taken by the School Nutrition Association at their upcoming 2009 Child Nutrition Industry Conference, being held in January 2009 in New Orleans, LA. The conference allows participants to work together to examine the critical issues impacting schools and the nutritional needs of students, and encouraging “out-of-the-box” strategies to find solutions for the many challenges facing schools, parents and children. “The Tropical Flurry school beverage program offers schools an ideal alternative to getting children to consume the amount of fruit needed for their daily diet,” said Clawson. “We’ve had a great deal of success with schools across the country and look forward to helping many others as they begin to think “out-of-the-box.”

Tropical Flurry Shifts to a More Nutritious Products

Tropical Flurry Moves Toward a more Nutritious Product Line, Including 100% Fruit Juice and Real Milk Based Products.

In response to the call for more nutrition in Schools, Tropical Flurry, the successful franchiser of the Tropical Flurry product line nationally, has moved towards 100% fruit juice, fruit smoothies and milkshakes with reduced sugar and real milk. This shift comes ahead of the growing number of states and school districts calling for legislative action.

“Looking at the current situation, from both health and legal, this seemed the perfect time to make this change” said David Clawson, President, Tropical Flurry. “We have always been a leader in providing the best products for the children. We were one of the first companies to offer Vitamin Fortified products and 50% juice sports drinks, to replace foods of minimal nutritious value (FMNV.)”

Tropical Flurry will continue to offer it’s traditional products in other markets, but will focus on providing the educational market – a segment where they are an industry leader, the fortified, 100% real products. These new products were developed not only in consideration of the state’s pending legislation but in conjunction with the local School Districts desire to provide a better, healthier product for the children at lunch.

Knowing the children will drink the frozen drinks because they are “fun” gives Tropical Flurry a great leg up in providing better nutrition. By adding vitamins, real milk and keeping the already great tasting products available, Tropical Flurry is able to get the children to “drink their vitamins” without knowing they are taking them. Something the government, teachers and parents all want to see happen on the school lunch lines.
